How NIBRA-CS® Works

Patient Preparation

The patient is prepared for the selected autonomic assessment and the required physiological measurements are initiated.

Physiological Signal Acquisition

ECG and other required physiological signals are acquired through the NIBRA-CS® system during the assessment.

Structured Autonomic Testing

Appropriate autonomic manoeuvres, including deep breathing, standing, Valsalva manoeuvre and sustained handgrip, are performed according to the assessment protocol

Cardiovascular Response Assessment

Cardiovascular responses associated with the selected autonomic tests are captured and assessed, including relevant heart-rate and blood-pressure responses.

Autonomic & HRV Analysis

The acquired physiological data are analysed to assess autonomic responses and Heart Rate Variability, including short-term, time-domain and frequency-domain parameters.

Digital Report

The assessment findings are compiled into an integrated digital report to support interpretation by qualified healthcare professionals.

MIIMD Perspective

NIBRA-CS® enters an established autonomic-assessment technology category rather than creating the underlying science of autonomic testing. Its significance from an Indian medical-device perspective lies in how established cardiovascular autonomic assessment methods have been integrated into a portable, standalone and digitally enabled system designed for point-of-care and lower-resource clinical environments.

The product brings together structured autonomic reflex testing, physiological signal acquisition, HRV analysis and digital reporting within a single workflow. This makes NIBRA-CS® an interesting example of indigenous medical-device innovation focused not only on technology, but also on how established clinical methods can be engineered for different deployment environments.

MIIMD views NIBRA-CS® as a meaningful example of India's evolving medical-device ecosystem: not because the underlying autonomic tests are newly invented, but because the product represents an Indian effort to integrate, package and deploy those established methods through a newer standalone and point-of-care-oriented architecture. Its longer-term impact will depend on continued clinical evidence, real-world adoption, technical validation and scalability.
